Protagonist: Pompeius Niger, born at Oxyrynchos, is a veteran soldier of the legio XXII Deiotariana. He has three brothers, one or two sisters and several children. There are indications that he settled in Oxyryncha in the Arsinoites nomos after his discharge from service. (Go to TM People)
