TM Arch id: 200

Quick facts

private: tax receipts archive

Also called archive of Psenchonsis son of Patemis, weaver, and colleagues

Protagonist: Psenchonsis son of Patemis, weaver (Go to TM People)

Description: Psenchonsis son of Patemis was a weaver. His archive largely consists of linen-related receipts (156-138 BC). The earliest receipts record actual deliveries of linen to the royal treasury in Diospolis Magna, while in the later receipts the payment of the linen-tax in money replaces the former deliveries. The archive may have been found together with other linen-tax receipts of Psenchonsis’ colleagues, in a weavers’ atelier at Medinet Habu; these receipts are labelled here as ‘related’.

Studies: Kaplony-Heckel, EVO 17 (1994), p. 161-181; Kaplony-Heckel, Fs. Junge, 2006, p. 383-400.
