| History: | P.Harris I, 1936, p. v: In the winter of 1922-1923 Dr. James Rendel Harris, then Curator of Manuscripts at the Rylands Library, Manchester, acquired privately in Egypt a considerable quantity of papyri, which he brought back with him to England and presented in 1925 to Woodbrooke College, Selly Oak, Birmingham. The Trustees deposited them provisionally with the Central Library of the Selly Oak Colleges upon its foundation in 1926. Now the Harris papyri are housed at the Orchard Learning Research Centre. |
