Full Information: Vandorpe, Katelijn, The Bilingual Family Archive of Dryton, his Wife Apollonia and their Daughter Senmouthis (P. Dryton) (Collectanea Hellenistica 4), Brussels 2002.
Summary DemLü: Edition of the mainly Pathyrite archive of the Greek cavalry officer Dryton and his family, ranging from ca. 174 until 91 BC. Of the 58 items listed by Vandorpe, 25 are Demotic and 5 bilingual Greek-Demotic. Of these 4 are only described, the remaining 21 are new or re-editions. Many of the papyrus texts are loans (10, 12-14, 18, 23, 26-27) or acknowledgements of debts (15, 20, 24, 28), but also marriage settlements (7, 9), divorce documents (5, 6, 8), a deed of partnership (49), an account (45), and a letter (35) belong to the archive. Furthermore there are some archival notes to Greek contracts (1, 21, 48). Five of the six Demotic ostraca in the archive are tax receipts (51-53, 54-55), one is an account (58). There are detailed discussions of the structure of the archive with due attention for the various types of text and their use in Gebelein. Concordances referring to inventory numbers and previous publications and detailed indices for both Greek and Demotic conclude the volume.
