Constrain your search chronologically by defining a range, e.g. between -30 and 25. For BC dates use negative numbers. To look for exact dates fill out the same number twice. The standard 'strict' search only includes records whose ranges entirely fall within the search range. When 'strict' is unchecked, the computer will also include records for which only one of the terms of the record's range falls in the search range, provided the range of the record is not broader than that of the search range. Thus records with a range -50 to -20 will be included amongst the results of the example search, but not those with a range -332 to -30. For 'dates after', fill out the left only, for 'dates before', fill out the left field only. For our dating conventions, see here .
